I appreciate your considering me as your potential emotional help-meet in the development of your emotional healing.
I have been in the counseling field since 1996 and have found it very rewarding. It’s always been a blessing to be a part of assisting others in finding out what impedes their relationships with the world, themselves, family and, of course, God.
I approach counseling with a no nonsense attitude believing that first a relationship with God is where the healing lies. However, I also know that there are many issues that prevent us from approaching the throne of God and those things need to be addressed before any real healing can occur.
Childhood trauma is a consistent issue I see frequently in addition to shame, sexual abuse, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression and abandonment.
There are few issues I have not dealt with and have personally experienced. My own victory over many issues is what I believe makes me perfectly suited to the empathy and non-judgement required to be a proficient counselor.
I have a simple practice in a small office but am also available by phone or Telehealth. My services are personal and individualized considering each person’s needs. I believe that introspection is required and taking a hard honest look at ourselves and our behaviors. I give personal assignments, Bible assignments and we will develop an action plan.
There has never been a winning team that didn’t have a great game plan; we will develop that together and will go at a pace that’s comfortable for you.
I began my practice working at a recovery center as the activities director, (Empire Recovery Center in Redding, CA). I then became the Mental Health Advocate for Shasta County Mental Health in Redding, California. I began my actual counseling work with abused women in a perinatal program called Passages in Corning, California, through Tehama County Substance Abuse. In 1999 I became a VISTA developing the program of the Juvenile Accountability Boards assisting juveniles who had committed minor crimes. I then established my own counseling business which was the first “Dress for Success” program. There’s more.
