Sara Karlich

Licensed Professional Counselor | MA, LPC, LCPC

I provide remote services only

My name is Sara Karlich and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) that has been in practice for 8 years. I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary in 2016. I have experience working with adolescents, young adults, and older adults. Throughout the years I have counseled clients representing the following issues: depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma and abuse, stress, family of origin issues, identity, spiritual issues, and self-esteem.

I provide a safe space to hear your story as we walk through the pain together. I use a wide variety of therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Spiritual Direction, EMDR, and Trauma Informed Therapy to uncover the belief system that may be hindering your growth process. From there, I assist you in identifying healthy beliefs to create new ways to see yourself and the world around you. My goal is to help you grow from these struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life.

On a personal level, I understand the journey you are about to take. Growing up in an abusive environment, I lived with perpetual feelings of sadness, fear, depression, and anxiety throughout my life. While most didn’t know it, I covered the pain up with a smile, good grades, and hard work. I found myself oscillating between rebellion and pleasing others to feel better about myself. It wasn’t until 2006, the year my parents divorced, that I realized I could not continue living in inner turmoil. What felt like the most painful time of my life ended up being one of the most fruitful blessings. I attended my first session with a licensed counselor and, little by little, God began to heal my heart. I am thankful for therapists who gave me time, space, and safety as I processed the hurt I had felt for so long. Throughout the years God brought many wise therapists into my life to guide me to a place of fuller healing. I realized I had to walk through the pain in order to be set free from it. I don’t profess to be completely “healed” as I believe the healing journey has no time limit and won’t be complete on this side of Heaven. However, I do believe that it is possible to live in greater freedom every single day.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband, stepdaughter, and our cat, Pumpkin. On weekends you can find us serving at our local church or enjoying hikes in the mountains.
