Licensed Clinical Master Social Worker | LCSW

I have always felt a passion for and calling to help others, rooted strongly in my Christian faith and values. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 18 years of clinical experience working in the school system, for a large Christian mental health agency, and in private practice. I graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2006 with a Master’s degree in Social Work. I am the owner of Rooted Hope Counseling in Hoffman Estates, and in addition to in-person services, I also offer telehealth support for those located anywhere in Illinois. I specialize in counseling for women, children, adolescents (teen girls) and families.

I have a special passion for helping women and girls understand their incredible value and worth and supporting those who feel anxious, stressed, weary, weighed down, and running on empty. Additionally, I enjoy finding fun and engaging ways to connect with children of all ages, as well as helping parents problem-solve challenges and identify simple, intentional changes that can help them build strong, positive relationships with their children and increase peace within their family. I also love helping clients with assertiveness/healthy communication, breaking the OCD cycle, and exploring issues of faith. I enjoy incorporating art and other types of creative expression in the therapy process as well (for those who are interested, of course).

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and relational. I begin by listening and asking questions to make sure I understand what my clients hope to gain through treatment and then work with them to develop a clear path toward meeting their goals. I always want my clients to feel supported in responding to new challenges from week to week and confident that they are steadily moving toward their larger goals.

At Rooted Hope Counseling, we believe the plan for each person’s life is a future worth hoping for and confidence in being able to overcome life’s various challenges that can get in the way. Therefore, it is our mission at Rooted Hope to walk alongside the women, children (boys and girls) and families we serve in an authentic and trustworthy fashion to help them fulfill their potential. We love helping our clients learn how to confidently face any trial from a position of security, in firmly rooted hope. Jeremiah 17:7-8 speaks to the core of our mission and summarizes the firmly rooted, confident hope that the Bible says is available despite any and all circumstances. It says:

“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

I would be honored to walk with you on your journey to discover this rock-solid hope in a fresh way, completely defiant of whatever season of heat or drought in which you may find yourself.

Finances: I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Choice, and United Behavioral Health/United Healthcare (UBH/UHC). Additionally, I am independently contracted with a third party which accepts most major insurances (including Anthem, UMR, Aetna, Coventry, Cigna, and Oscar Health). However, this agreement is only for telehealth services for clients 13 and older. Again, at Rooted Hope Counseling, I see clients of all ages, in person and/or telehealth, and can accept the Blue Cross plans noted above or UBH/UHC for in-network care, or I can accept self-pay and provide documentation so that clients can request reimbursement for any out-of-network benefits that other insurance plans may offer.

*I offer free 15 minute phone consultations. Please call or book a time on my website.
