When considering counseling, it is important to know a counselor’s values and approach. In brief, my beliefs about the counseling are…Effective counseling occurs in a safe trusting relationship. Grace is essential as listening and honest conversation allows examination of barriers preventing a deeper purpose and meaning in life. Counseling can only be effective when all dimensions of who we are can be evaluated and considered including physical, emotional, social, and spiritual. I would describe my view and approach to counseling as Biblical, yet my beginning point and approach meet you where you are at and move forward only with your permission. My goal is to be a counselor who guides self-reflection allowing insight to motivate change.

My goal in counseling is for individuals and families, in a healthy way, to learn through trauma, suffering, relational struggles or dilemmas we create or find ourselves in. This learning occurs in the context of Marriage, Families, being a man or woman, teen or child. With thirty four years’ experience in Child Welfare and coming alongside many who are hurting, areas of interest to me are: Addiction, Marriage, Parenting and Child Trauma and fears that keep us from being who God created us to be. For many years I have provided crisis and ongoing interventions and counseling for individuals, couples and families in the context of ministry through the local church.

My approach is to support building healthy and resilient individuals and relationships as communication occurs in our two way relationship. A counselor provides resources that aid moving forward in a healthy way, physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually.

I look forward to working with you.
