John holds four degrees: a BA in Religion and Psychology, a Master of Divinity, A Doctor of Ministry degree, and MA in Community Counseling. He has been a licensed professional counselor since 2006. John became a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist in 2007, and he maintained that certification until December, 2015. He recently earned his certification as a SRT (Sexual Recovery Therapist) through the American Association of Sex Addiction Therapy. He is blessed by his marriage to Valerie now for 40 years. They have three grown daughters and four grandchildren.
I am a Sexual Recovery Therapist (SRT) with specialization in sexual addictions and couples/marriages. I also work extensively with teens struggling with sexual compulsivity issues. My clients learn to replace destructive behaviors and avoidance of intimacies through healthy and meaningful interactions. As a pastor for three decades, I also have a passionate desire to assist pastors and spouses. Pastors face some unique challenges in maintaining sexual purity and having healthy marriages. I offer them a safe, confidential, and proven place to find solutions.
John published his first book in early 2016. It is called Pure Teens: Honoring God, Relationships, and Sex. His second book is called Pure Teens: Free to Love published in November, 2019.
