Sharon Raugutt

Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor | MA, LPCC

You are looking for support and are desperate for change and understanding, whether for yourself, your child, or your family. You have not found a good fit within traditional therapy settings, and you long for something different. Sharon believes that, just as every individual is unique and has unique needs, therapeutic approaches need to be personalized and adapted to fit each client, couple, or family in order to be effective. Sharon strives to partner with you and your family members in developing a client-centered treatment plan that will most effectively enable you to achieve your goals.

Although some clients prefer standard hourly sessions stretched out over time, RPS provides an ideal setting for Intensive Therapy Retreats, which involve therapy sessions scheduled in “chunks” of time, spanning from several hours within a day to several hours each day across several days in a row. Intensive Therapy Retreats can be highly beneficial for individuals, couples, and families experiencing times of crisis/intense stress or who feel “stuck” in their healing and/or relationships and would like to do some intensive work in a short time frame. During Intensive Therapy Retreats, only one client/couple/family is present on property and session structure is very flexible. Please contact Sharon for a free consultation to determine which approach will work best for you and your situation.

While Sharon has had a wide range of experience serving adults, children, and families with diverse mental health issues, she feels particularly privileged to walk alongside and support clients who have experienced stress/trauma. She believes that there are typically underlying reasons for undesirable behaviors, and that the issues driving behaviors are often misinterpreted and misunderstood, which can lead to disconnection from self, family, and others. It gives Sharon great joy to help people build relational bridges, achieve their goals, and experience God’s ability to redeem lives.

RPS offers a very beautiful and private, park-like setting that provides clients with a sense of safety and enables opportunity for rest and renewal. Clients explore experiences and challenges through a variety of expressive, experiential, play, somatosensory, and cognitive approaches; faith-based interventions, including prayer, spiritual resources, and/or scripture, are also available at client request. An indoor space is set up for all ages, and clients have opportunity to spend therapy sessions outdoors, walk wooded trails, sit before a campfire, and engage with cats, dogs, and horses.

In 2000, Sharon felt that God was calling her to be a therapist. She received a BS in Family Studies in 2005 from Western Baptist (Corban College), and graduated in 2010 with a master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Specialized trainings include EMDR/Flash, TF-CBT, Sensory Motor Arousal Regulation Treatment, AIR Network, Trauma Focused Intensive Therapy, Play Therapy, Animal Assisted Play Therapy (TM), multiple forms of canine/equine-assisted therapy trainings, and a focus on complex trauma/attachment/dissociation issues. Sharon is a wife and mother, and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in both MN and ND.
