Licensed Professional Counselor | MS, LPC,CAADC
Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor as I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and Counseling Psychology as well as a Post Bachelor Certificate in Theory of Addictive Behavior from Capella University after studying Human Services as an undergraduate at Lake Superior State University. I have 25 years of experience in a variety of mental health settings from inpatient substance abuse rehabs, outpatient clinics, to partial hospitalization programs and specialized substance abuse treatment. I have worked with individuals facing attention deficit hyperactive disorder, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, grief, codependency, and addiction.
My practice is guided by the belief that people are best when their whole person in balanced in physical, mental. social, and spiritual. People when given the tools can reflect on how to change and can generate solutions to their own problems. I am enthusiastic about helping clients to start a new path to discover their individual talents, and abilities. I use a combination of motivational interviewing (MI), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) as well as other evidenced-based techniques to help clients achieve their goals in treatment. Jeannie provides a nonjudgmental counseling experience characterized by positive affirmations, integrity, compassion, and empathy. I hasvebeen helping the broken put pieces back together in relationships in need of repair. God is forgiving, and I am here to help to be a safe and nonjudgmental place to help with the process of change.
