As an interactive therapist, Dave creates a strong working alliance with his clients and his style is warm, direct and depth-oriented. Working collaboratively, he believes in establishing clear goals for treatment and he uses a blend of therapeutic approaches to most suit his clients and their presenting issues Dave enjoys working with individuals, couples, and families. His areas of interest include:
Anxiety disorders (obsessive compulsive disorder, panic, phobias, etc.)
Depression and low self esteem
Parenting issues and improving family communication and dynamics, including estrangement
General men’s issues including mid-life transitions and crisis
Couples communication, conflict resolution, and intimacy issues
Adolescents and young adults dealing with struggles, transitions, and the need for direction in life
Spiritual issues in general and people serving in ministry positions
Interpersonal relationship issues including pre-marital, divorce, remarriage, and blended families

Prior to entering the counseling field, Dave spent 15 years in various sales and executive management positions within corporate and retail banking. He has a Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Western Seminary, a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame and a M.B.A. from Cal State Long Beach. He and his wife of 37 years are happy “empty nesters.” They relocated to Southern California during the Covid-19 pandemic to be near their kids and grandchildren and enjoy visiting different beaches almost every Friday!
