Licensed Professional Counselor | MA, LPC-IT
Counseling is my second career; I retired from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections after 33 years, and obtained a master’s degree in counseling from Liberty University in 2017. I have been licensed by the State of Wisconsin as a professional counselor since then, and deal with issues like depression, anxiety, grief, substance and behavior use, anger, and those who are mandated to be in treatment.
I provide Christian counseling services to individuals, couples, and families. Prayer and Scripture can be included in sessions. During couples and family sessions, and with permission, my wife is available to join in. If supervised visitation is needed, that can be provided. Celebrate Recovery is an available resource as I co-facilitate the local chapter.
An ideal client is one who knows they are powerless to control their wrong tendencies, who knows s/he is important to God, is ready to make a conscious decision to commit life and will to Jesus Christ, admits to faults, and willing to seek God’s wisdom to change. Everyone is comprised of biological, psychological, sociological, and spiritual components, and each has to be functioning well in order to be made whole.
Solid Rock Counseling is a solo practice and all clients are welcomed. I have a home-based office in Muscoda and one at Grace Community Church, Richland Center. During this time of social separation, a telehealth counseling platform is utilized; once separation has been lifted, it will continue to be an option. Acceptable forms of payment are cash, check, and credit card.
Counseling is personal and sensitive; information provided is treated confidentially. I am honored to walk with a client through their valley, and am as vested in the counseling process as is the client.
