Counseling is my second career; I retired from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections after 33 years, and obtained a master’s degree in counseling from Liberty University in 2017. I have been licensed by the State of Wisconsin as a professional counselor since then, and deal with issues like depression, anxiety, grief, substance and behavior use, anger, and those who are mandated to be in treatment.
I provide Christian counseling services to individuals, couples, and families. Prayer and Scripture can be included in sessions. During couple and family sessions, and with permission, my wife is available to join in. If supervised visitation is needed, that can be provided. Celebrate Recovery is an available resource as my wife and I co-lead the local group.
An ideal client is one who knows they are powerless to control their wrong tendencies, who knows s/he is important to God, is ready to make a conscious decision to commit life and will to Jesus Christ, admits to faults, and willing to seek God’s wisdom to change. Everyone is comprised of biological, psychological, sociological, and spiritual components, and each has to be functioning well in order to be made whole.
Solid Rock Counseling is a solo practice and all clients are welcomed. I have a home-based office in Muscoda. Services are primarily provided in-person and there is a telehealth option available. Acceptable forms of payment are cash, check, and debit/credit card.
Counseling is personal and sensitive; information provided is treated confidentially. I am honored to walk with you through your valley, and am as vested in the counseling process as are you.
