Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist | MA, LMFT
I love working with anyone who wants to grow as a person or in their relationships. Most of my clients feel like they are stuck or in need of support to address difficulties in their lives, both past and present. I feel honored to share their journey and believe that God will lead the way, as together, we discover and build tools for a healthy and purposeful life.
I have been in practice for many years so I have had experience with a wide range of issues. Working for 20 + years as a special educator adds to my skills with children of all ages. I count it a privilege to individualize therapy for each person or family with whom I meet.
I use a variety of counseling approaches depending on the issue and the need. I enjoy working with all age groups. I specialize in self esteem issues, marriage, parenting, grief, depression, anxiety, trauma and personal growth.
I am well practiced in cognitive therapy, behavioral therapy, Rogerian therapy, family systems therapy and EMDR and DNMS.
Married to my pastor husband for decades now, we have 4 grown children with 5 grands who have taught me as much or more about life and counseling than my formal classes, although they were good! I integrate my Christian faith with psychological theories, practices and strategies.
I have a master’s degree in psychology and special education. I’ve served as a special education teacher and administrator. I have worked in both church, children’s and college ministry.
It is a joy and a gift to me to support others who are working hard to live and love well.
