Dr. Ching-Ching Ruan

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist | LMFT

I have worked extensively in public and private mental health settings, including university clinics, youth and family services, a community substance abuse treatment center, state contracted counseling programs and a child guidance center. I have worked with a wide range of client populations, both voluntary and involuntary ones with various issues, ranging from individual’s behavioral and mental issues, grief, trauma, alcohol and substance use, couple’s relationships, family’s conflicts, and life transitions. My bilingual capacity is a great asset, especially for those Mandarin-speaking immigrant families that raise an English-speaking younger generation.

I’m a certified Prepare Enrich facilitator, and have completed Gottman Method Couple Therapy for Level 1 & 2 Trainings. I have also been trained in IFS (Internal Family Systems level 1). In addition, I have taken Discernment Counseling training to work with couples who are ambivalent about their marriage and to gain clarity about the path of their future.

I offer individual, family and marital counseling in the practice. We also offer clinical supervision to other therapists seeking a licensed MFT supervisor. I am licensed to practice in the states of Connecticut and Washington. I am conducting both virtual and in-person sessions.

I have extensive experiences working in academia and in various clinical settings. Previously I was a full-time professor at Nyack College and clinical supervisor at a nationally accredited master’s level MFT program in the state of New York before moving to Bellevue. I am currently an adjunct professor at Northwest University.

I am also an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and have provided over a thousand hours of individual, dyadic and group supervision in the academic training program and in my private practice. I have extensive experience counseling and working with Pastoral families.
