Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist | Ph.D., MAMFT, MDiv, LPC, NCC, BCCC
We live in a world in which marriages are being attacked on all fronts. Sometimes, we find ourselves in situations that we have never faced before and are uncertain how to move forward. My wife and I did following an automobile accident that left us struggling with the effects of PTSD. It was only by the grace of God and with the help of a Christian psychiatrist and counseling that we survived. Our marriage is stronger today than even before as a result.
As marriages continue to fall captive to the schemes of the enemy and divorce rates among Christian families matching those of the unchurched world – my focus for ministry has taken a new direction – providing hope to couples who face similar frustrations in their marriage and family relationships.
Andre Crouch once wrote a song that summarizes my spiritual journey.
“Through it all I have learned to trust in Jesus, I have learned to trust in God”
You may have found yourself in such a dilemma. If so, God offers help to the hurting.
I would love the opportunity of helping you find the “peace” that only comes through rightly applying God’s Word in an integrative counseling approach. Please let me know how I can help.
Counseling is a collaborative process in which the client and the counselor work together in finding solutions to life’s problems/situations. As a truly “integrative” Professional Christian Counselor, I utilize empirically supported counseling theories (CBT, REBT, EFCT, Systems Theory) along with the Word of God to assist clients in finding Biblically based solutions to their issues in a “safe” environment where you can share openly and honestly without fear.
Multiple formats are available: individual, marriage, family. Through the Smalley Institute, I also offer marriage intensives.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-#4911) in the state of Louisiana, a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC-#81646)), a Board Certified Christian Counselor (BCCC-#0025), and a Board Certified Civil and Family Mediator. I have earned Master Degrees in Professional Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Master of Divinity, and PhD in Psychology and Counseling.
Disclaimer: Although we don’t know all these counselors personally, each one is licensed as a mental health professional in the state where he or she practices and has completed an application that has been reviewed by our staff. We believe that these are Christian therapists who will counsel from a biblical perspective. Please contact their office directly to determine whether their Christian beliefs are in alignment with your own and to find out more regarding their fee and insurance information. For information on counselors in Canada, please contact our Canadian affiliate office.
