Matt is a licensed professional counselor in the State of Michigan and founded Anchor of Hope Counseling in 2015. He has a deep desire and passion to help others live fully into the abundant life God has called them to. Matt has received a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Psychology from Spring Arbor University, and a Master’s degree in Counseling from Palm Beach Atlantic University.
Before founding Anchor of Hope Counseling, Matt worked in a variety of counseling settings including Christ Fellowship Church, Palm Beach Atlantic University, and Bethany Christian Services as both a family counselor and counseling supervisor. Matt is a licensed professional counselor and an approved clinical supervisor in the State of Michigan.
Matt utilizes a person-centered and narrative approach to therapy. Matt specializes in working with teens and young adults. His authenticity and relatability make him a perfect fit for this population. Specifically, he often works with clients who are working through pornography addiction, anxiety, and looking for spiritual direction. He is a TBRI trained therapist for families who are looking for post-adoption support.
Matt has been married for thirteen years and has two children. He and his wife have also been previous foster parents, and are soon to be adoptive parents. Matt enjoys spending time with his family, going to the beach, being active, and watching sports (especially anything University of Michigan related) in his leisure time.
