Sandra graduated from California University, Fullerton with a Bachelor Degree in Child Development and a Master of Arts Degree in Marriage And Family Therapy from Hope International University. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy and trained in EMDR Therapy. EMDR is an empirically researched method of psychotherapy that helps clients process past and present disturbing life events and memories that also keep them stuck in defeating patterns of living.
Among her areas of expertise are EMDR Therapy, Couples Therapy, Women’s Issues, Children, relational issues, attachment counseling, and Christian counseling.
Her passion is to help couples thrive in their marriages and learn how to connect with one another. Additionally, she understands this work to be foundational to parenting. As couples strengthen their attachment to one another, they can parent more effectively helping their children grow into healthy adults with a securely attached love style.
She also works with individuals utilizing EMDR and is close to certification. EMDR is beneficial for a wide variety of issues including but not limited to anxiety, depression, PTSD, recent or past trauma.
Sandra has been active in her church serving in various capacities. Together with her husband of 27 years they have raised 5 children. Twelve years ago, Sandra and her husband knew God was leading them to adopt. Together they adopted two children from Ethiopia who have now graduated from college. She understands the journey of adoption as parents, children and families. Sandra began her professional career as an elementary school teacher and then as a homeschool mom for 12 years. With a passion for helping families thrive, Sandra pursued a second career as a therapist.
