Licensed Professional Counselor | Ph.D, LPC
My passion is coming alongside those who want better mental health and improved quality of life. I will work with you toward your goals with care and acceptance. My primary concern is to help you reduce emotional pain and further your emotional, spiritual and mental wellness.
My specialties include: Christian counseling, EMDR, mood disorders (anxiety, depression), women’s issues including spouses of sex addicts, substance abuse, chronic mental illness, and co-dependency issues. I have over 20 years of counseling experience in medical settings, corrections, schools and private practice. My MA and PhD in psychology were earned at the University of Denver and Fuller Theological Seminary. Having practiced Occupational Therapy for 10 years prior to becoming a counselor, I may utilize experiential activities in my practice.
My calling is helping others develop an improved quality of life in every aspect of life. Spiritual issues and beliefs are often explored; I use scripture and prayer unless clients choose not to have these aspects as part of the therapeutic experience. There is a special place in my heart for those experiencing divorce or recovering from divorce. Treatment approaches used include: EMDR, Cognitive-Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic and Brief Therapy.
