Licensed Professional Counselor | LPCS, LCAS
I believe that my relationship with you as my client is one of the most important things in helping you. Therefore, I will take time to listen to your story, find out about your goals for coming to counseling and work with you in designing the best ways to achieve them. If you struggle in your marriage, I will assist you in learning tools that can help you reconnect and rekindle your love for each other. If you feel discouraged and lonely, I can guide you in how to build satisfying relationships, experience joy, and discover your life’s purpose. If you are held back and crippled by anxiety, I hope to provide a safe place for you to understand the origins of your fears and learn how you can either cope with them or overcome them. I am passionate about helping others navigate through the process of growth and change. I utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions that have proven to be effective in helping clients with depression, anxiety, addictions, trauma, or relationship difficulties.
I work at Agape Christian Counseling, a non-profit organization that provides professional counseling from a Christian perspective. I integrate Biblical principles with sound psychological insights with those clients who desire to incorporate faith and Christian practices into their healing process. I offer my clients a calm, understanding presence and the experience of more than ten years as a clinician in a variety of settings, to help them sort out problems and find a way to cope and resolve their important concerns.
I hold a PhD in Counseling from UNC at Charlotte and MA in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. I have post-graduate training in the Gottman Method to Couples Therapy, pre-marital counseling, trauma counseling, substance abuse counseling, and career counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPCS) and a Licensed Counseling Addictions Specialist (LCAS) in the state of North Carolina.
