Dr. Jonathan Rapp is a licensed clinical psychologist dedicated to helping individuals and couples discover solutions to life’s most difficult personal and relational challenges. His genuine compassion and professional expertise create a comfortable atmosphere where deep healing, growth, and life transformation are possible. Videoconference appointments are available in California, Colorado, and Florida.

Dr. Rapp’s breadth and depth of training and experience allow him to integrate multiple treatment approaches and consider the whole person in order to personalize treatment and maximize effectiveness. He provides individual therapy for personal problems such as depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, eating disorders, sex or pornography addiction, and unremitting grief. Dr. Rapp provides couples therapy (also referred to as marriage therapy, marriage counseling, or couples counseling) for couples who want to build trust, passion, and tenderness in their relationship, often after infidelity, persistent conflict, or simply growing apart has caused one or both partners to become unsatisfied.

Dr. Rapp earned a Ph.D. and M.A. in clinical psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University, where he received advanced training in the theoretical and applied integration of psychology and theology. Dr. Rapp has provided professional psychological services at a VA medical center, county and state hospitals, military treatment facilities, mental health centers, and a university counseling center, as well as in private practice. He has also held academic appointments at Biola University, Vanguard University and the University of Southern California and taught in the areas of the psychology of religious experience, the theory and practice of Christian counseling, and the diagnosis and treatment of PTSD and other traumatic stress reactions. In addition, Dr. Rapp has provided clinical training, supervision, and consultation to lay church counselors, master’s level therapists, doctoral candidates, and psychologists. Further, he has provided expert testimony for over 100 cases for the judicial system.
