I graduated from Southern Nazarene University in 1995 with MSCP and received my Oklahoma Professional Counselor License in 1997. I have been in private practice at Northwest Mental Health Associates, 3832 N. Meridian, Oklahoma City, OK, 73112 for over 21 years. I specialize in healing from trauma and PTSD. I am committed to walk with you and support change in the your life. This healing process is done with the your commitment to working the therapy and we will work at your pace to avoid you becoming overwhelmed or stuck.
Research reveals wounds from traumatic experiences cause struggles with depression, anxiety addictions, shame, and guilt as well as physical symptoms. Traumatic memories are stored in your mind, body and nervous system as negative energy and can bring overwheling negative thoughts and behavior in your present life. I desire to encourage healing, as a compassionate professional, by working with you in your recovery process with proven therapies and support. I am Certified in EMDR, Integrated Base Stress Reduction and I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I continue to read and study to improve myself personally, spiritually and professionally.
My faith is an important part of my practice. I believe in treating the whole person in body, spirit and soul which includes the mind, will and emotions. The goal in recovery therapy is healing and restoration as God created and intended for you. Meditation and pray along with therapies that center the body, mind and spirit result in peace and empowerment. I desire to be an instrument of hope and healing by helping you learn and practice dealing with stress. We will use different helps to stabilize your thoughts, emotions, behaviors and relationships and proven stress and trauma therapies.
