Leah Harter has worked in the private practice setting as a licensed counselor since 2000. Her specialties are trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, grief, low self-esteem, conflict management, anger, boundaries, forgiveness, premarital couples and women’s issues. In addition, she has taught as an adjunct psychology professor at Westminster College and University of Phoenix. Leah received a B.A. in Christian Education from Wheaton College and a Masters in Counseling and Youth and Family Ministries from Denver Seminary in 1997.

In addition to talk therapy, Leah has specialized training in EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy. EMDR is a method of psychotherapy that has been widely researched as an effective method of treatment for trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and disturbing memories. EMDR can also be effective in the treating anxiety and depression as well. EMDR is an integrative psychotherapeutic approach that assists an individual to process memories and promote emotional healing.
